DCT Employee Spotlight: Meet Marcos Emiliano Perez!

Please give a brief overview of your role at DCT.

“Currently, my role at DCT is BIM Coordinator. I’m responsible for digital processes associated with the design and construction stages of a project, mainly from an MEP side. I ensure 3D models, drawings, and data are up to date and hosted in one accessible place; also, clash-free during and provide all the openings on the building.”

When did you join DCT and what led you to this role?

“I have been working in DCT since October of 2021, and I started as a BIM Technician.

In the past 6 years, I have been specialising in BIM methodologies. I started working in the BIM world in Argentina in a BIM consulting company as well. When I moved to Ireland, I was looking for some challenging opportunities where I could be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines and be able to communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Those are the main reasons why I was led to this role.”

What excites you the most about working in the BIM/Digital Construction sector?

“I have a degree in Architecture, so from this point, working in construction is always exciting, being able to watch and track the progress of a project from sketch to construction and maintenance. Furthermore, the BIM sector is fascinating because you can apply the technology in each stage of a project. Also, digital construction is in continuous development and growth, and for this reason, you are all the time learning new software and methodologies to improve your skills.”

What’s your favourite thing about working with DCT?

“I appreciate the supportive culture at the company, where colleagues genuinely care about me and my professional development. This truly creates a great environment in which you can feel like a valued part of the team.”
