I have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics from Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences and am currently finishing my Masters degree in Building Information Modelling Management and Integrated Digital Delivery at Middlesex University in London.

Previous Experience: 

My previous roles include working as BIM Manager and Design Engineer on projects with various backgrounds such as industry, hospitality, commercial and residential, pharmaceutical, logistics and healthcare sectors.

What you like about the Construction Industry?

I like the dynamics of the Construction Industry because every day brings new challenges and various possibilities to solve them. As a Mechatronics Engineer, I love to have the possibility to combine multiple disciplines to work towards same goal and creating marvelous projects.

Most exciting thing about working in DCT?:

What excites me most about working with DCT Group is using a high-level BIM on various types of projects in different countries. There is vast amount of knowledge and experience in DCT Group and gives me opportunity to learn from many different people with different professional backgrounds in a comfortable working environment.

Previous Experience:

I have carried out a number of roles throughout my experience in college. These roles include working as a Marketing Assistant, Social Media Strategist, Sales Assistant, and Marketing Intern, which were all carried out while studying.

What do you like about the Construction Industry?

What I like most about the construction industry is that it’s always changing. This is especially apparent working with DCT as they are always incorporating the latest technologies.

Most exciting thing about working in DCT?:

One of the most exciting things about working at DCT is the opportunity to develop your career and skills. The company is constantly seeking and providing ways to improve your skillset. Another thing is the collaborative environment in which we work in, everyone works as a team and it makes it a lot easier to get stuff done.

Digital SiteStations Bring Digital Technology to the Coalface of Construction in the UK

DCT Group has been featured in Building Ireland Magazine for our collaboration with international firm Armorgard Ltd, for the creation of a bespoke SiteStation.

The bespoke SiteStation combines hardware, software, and processes to create a collaborative space to plan and strategize directly onsite.

DCT Group CEO, Joseph Mady, commented on the collaboration, “The digitally adapted Armorgard SiteStation is just one of the new innovative solutions that DCT Group is exploring further in 2021” and “It is a significant technological advancement and the backbone of a project’s efficiency and field operations”.

My previous roles include working as a BIM Manager and Design Engineer on projects in the data centre, educational, industrial, commercial and residential sectors.

What you like about the Construction Industry?

What i enjoy most about the Construction industry its the ever-evolving nature of Construction. There is always new technologies and methodologies being implemented on both on the administration side and the installation side. Whether it is BIM, pre-fabrication, or the introduction of the Internet of Things (IoT), there is always something to learn in this industry.

Most exciting thing about working in DCT?:

What excites me most about working with DCT Group is the depth and breadth of knowledge that surrounds me. My colleagues are experienced and come from varying industries, meaning we have a vast pool of experience to draw from on any project we are working on.

I am a certified plumber by trade, working in the construction industry for 20 years.

Previous Experience:

My previous roles include BIM project lead and BIM Manager. I have nearly a decade of experience working on BIM projects including Intel, Covanta/Poolbeg incinerator, Shire Pharmaceutical Plant, St. Ita’s  Forensics and Mental Health Hospital and Cherrywood Town Centre to name a few.

What you like about the Construction Industry?

Working in the Construction industry exposes you to so many different people and skillsets, no two weeks are the same which really excites me. I love being able to solve problems and see the projects we have been involved with coming to life.

Most exciting thing about working in DCT?:

What excites me most about working with DCT Group is the different types of projects I’ve been involved with since I joined the company. I really enjoy working and learning from my colleagues. The culture in DCT Group is really brilliant and is what makes coming to work that bit easier.

Previous Experience:

Thankfully I have a wide range of construction experience working on various projects including TU Dublin Grangegorman, Intel, Linkedin EMEA HQ and various other large scale projects, better positioning me to bring my knowledge to my new role with DCT Group.

What you like about the Construction Industry?

Working in the Construction industry gives me a lot of job satisfaction, I like the process of taking a design model from the process of coordination to being a fully as built model and handing it over to the client.

Most exciting thing about working in DCT?:

What excites me most about working with DCT is the variety of projects and the diverse roles that DCT plays on each one, ranging from assisting the design team to assisting the construction team. I’ve only worked on the construction side of projects, so working on the design side is new for me. It’s beneficial to gain experience working on the design side of a project before handing it over to the construction team.

Meet The Team – Fionnuala Kilcoyne

Job Title:

Office Manager.

In my role as Office Manager, I manage the running of the DCT Group office, any HR matters, and day-to-day activities within the Group.  I work closely with our Group CEO, Joseph Mady, as well as the MD’s of our offices in Croatia and Argentina.

  • CIPD Diploma in Industrial & Employment Relations, National College of Ireland (2011)
  • Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), 2002 – Present

Previous Experience:

I began my career in Administration roles primarily in the financial industry in Dublin.  In 2002, my role transferred to Edinburgh, Scotland to cover a short-term leave of absence but loved it so much I wound up staying there for 6 years!

On my return to Dublin, I worked mainly in HR based roles and always enjoyed the administrative, organisational and analytical aspects to these roles, as they allowed for the development of very practical and cross-functional skills.

What you like about the industry?

It’s great that the construction industry is not a stationary one; it is always looking forward – continually utilising new technologies, encouraging the development of new skillsets, coming up with new and exciting ways to design and manage projects and builds.  It is constantly moving, evolving, and embracing of change.

Most exciting thing about working in DCT?:

Every day is something different!  DCT provides a very niche offering within the construction industry and it is a great place to learn new skills, develop as a professional and work with a committed and valued team.
