Bringing digital technology to the construction site

‘Digital cube’ helps Irish contractor improve site efficiency

‘Digital cube’ helps Irish contractor improve site efficiency

Virtual design and construction consultant Digital Construction Technologies has created a “digital cube” to create workplace efficiencies for the Dublin-based contractor Collen Construction.

The cube allows Collen to bring both collaborative planning and digital coordination to the project delivery teams in the field.

Tommy Drumm, managing director of Collen Construction, said: “Working with DCT to develop this digital cube has both improved workflow and project delivery time along with reducing costs, all within a collaborative and functional space. We are delighted with the development and will be rolling this out across multiple projects over the coming months.”

Joseph Mady, manging director of DCT Group, said: “The Digital Cube is at the heart of a project’s efficiency and operations in the field and we were delighted to work with Collen to develop this”.

BIM for Data Centers

Data centers are among the most complex building types, requiring a significant amount of coordination among Building Team members, often with a compressed schedule and in tight spaces. Perhaps no other project type stands to benefit more from coordination using building information modeling and virtual design and construction than data centers.
